i went to the alameda antique faire and saw a print of the fuel injection special race car by kurtis kraft. i couldn't get the car off my mind. it was just amazing looking. the colors, the shape. when i returned home, i promptly looked the car up and read up on bill vukovich. multi-indy 500 winner during the 50's and died during an indy race.
i had to draw the car and bill. bill was known as the mad russian and also, more appropriately since he was a serbian-american, the silent serb, so i went ahead and made a toon for each of his monikers.
